The following is a list of words, languages, phrases and lexicon units used in Tradewinds.

The goal is to not only provide players with what different words and phrases mean, but to also create a consistent flavor in the world of Tradewinds by creating and establishing specific words used in to define and describe things players and NPCs may encounter in Tradewinds.

When developing quests and content such as lore books, quest descriptions, npc dialog etc, this lexicon shall be referred to.

While tradewinds' primary language is English (common), other fictional languages may exist for lore purposes.

Common - the name of the common language spoken in Tradewinds, and appears as simplified English to the player.

Twisted - the name given to all things magic. It refers to magical items, magical practices and studies of magic things. Use as a proper noun only. Twisted is the name, lore wise, officially given by the academies of the Twisted Arts. When not used as a proper noun, or when used by NPCs or texts who are not familiar with the academies, then names such as magicka, magic, magicks, etc is preferred.

Hell, underworld, nether - refers to the dimension known in vanilla minecraft as the nether. It may sometimes also refer to the subsurface layer in the overworld located just above bedrock, which is known to contain lava and hell towers.

Void, great unknown, the beyond - refers to any plane, dimension or location beyond our knowledge, such as the end, below bedrock or outer space. For example, meteors are cast to the world from the gods in the great beyond.

Hellgate - what is known in vanilla minecraft as a nether portal. These are portals of immense demonic power that bridge the overworld with the underworld.

Demons, hellspawns, underlings - any being from the underworld, such as blazes, imps or ghasts.

Nurza, outer beings, voidspawn - any being from beyond, such as endermen.
